{"id":317,"date":"2024-04-02T07:16:44","date_gmt":"2024-04-02T06:16:44","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/tutors4you.com\/?page_id=317"},"modified":"2024-04-02T07:16:45","modified_gmt":"2024-04-02T06:16:45","slug":"zeroth-law-of-thermodynamics","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/tutors4you.com\/index.php\/zeroth-law-of-thermodynamics\/","title":{"rendered":"Zeroth Law of Thermodynamics"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<div class=\"well well-sm\">\n\t\t\t\n\t\t\t <p align=\"left\"><font color=\"#FF0000\" size=\"4\"\n        face=\"Arial\">When two bodies A and B are separately in\n        thermal equilibrium with a third body C, they are in\n        thermal equilibrium with each other.<\/font><\/p>\n        <p align=\"left\"><font color=\"#FF0000\" size=\"4\"\n        face=\"Arial\">Internal energy:&nbsp; <\/font><font\n        color=\"#000080\" size=\"4\" face=\"Arial\">It is the sum of\n        all forms of kinetic and potential energy of the system.\n        It is the sum of the kinetic energy of motion of the\n        molecules and the potential energy represented by the\n        chemical bonds between the atoms and any other\n        intermolecular forces.<\/font><\/p>\n        <p align=\"left\"><font color=\"#000080\" size=\"4\"\n        face=\"Arial\">Examples:<\/font><\/p>\n        <p align=\"left\"><font color=\"#000080\" size=\"4\"\n        face=\"Arial\">(i)&nbsp; In an ideal monoatomic gas, the\n        internal energy is in the form of translational kinetic\n        energy of the atoms.<\/font><\/p>\n        <p align=\"left\"><font color=\"#000080\" size=\"4\"\n        face=\"Arial\">(ii) in a plyatomic gas, the internal energy\n        is in the form of translational, rotational and\n        vibrational kinetic energy of the molecules.<\/font><\/p>\n        <p align=\"left\"><font color=\"#000080\" size=\"4\"\n        face=\"Arial\">(iii) In a liquid or solid, the internal\n        energy is in the form of translational, rotational and\n        vibrational kinetic energy of the molecules and potential\n        energy associated with the intermolecular attractive\n        forces.<\/font><\/p>\n        <p align=\"left\"><font color=\"#000080\" size=\"4\"\n        face=\"Arial\">We cannot measure the absolute value of\n        internal energy of a system. The best one can do is\n        measure the changes in internal energy.
